Approved Ink Modifiers & Mixing Versatility
The Texsource GEN series integrates smoothly with standard commercial additives. For special applications, modify with curable reducers (for decreased squeegee drag on 230+ mesh halftones), stretch additives (for athletic ribbing), puff concentrates, or thickeners. Always follow specific manufacturer additive ratios to maintain the low 285°F cure balance.
Press Performance & Production Advantages
Texsource GEN Series Black (11900) represents advanced plastisol ink technology engineered specifically for commercial screen printers. Formulated as a general-purpose, high-density black, this ink provides exceptional printability, crisp line definition, and high-productivity wet-on-wet performance on both manual carousels and high-speed automated presses.
*Product photos are visual representations of ink body and viscosity. Standard textile black is formulated for general purpose, deep-absorption textile printing.
Texsource GEN 11900 Black is a true industry-standard textile black pigment engineered for high-density coverage, text work, spot color outlines, and fine halftone key plates.
- High-Density Black Pigment: Delivers pure, rich jet-black prints without washing out to a charcoal or brownish tint on cotton or synthetic garments.
- High-Productivity Wet-on-Wet Formula: Formulated to resist screen buildup on the contact side, allowing seamless wet-on-wet automated runs without intermediate flashing.
- Energy-Saving 285°F Low Cure: Achieves full fusion cure at 285°F (~60s dwell), protecting synthetic fibers, saving shop electricity, and minimizing garment shrinkage.
- Dual Application Versatility: Excels as a direct textile ink on cotton, 50/50, and tri-blends, while also serving as a dependable medium for conventional cold-peel transfers.

Troubleshooting & Pressroom Defect Prevention
Resolving common shop-floor printing issues with Texsource GEN Series Black:
Issue: Why is Black ink washing out or graying out after laundry cycles?
Correction: Black absorbs radiant dryer heat quickly, which often fools press operators using infrared guns. The surface reaches 285°F rapidly, but the full depth of the ink deposit where it bonds with garment fibers must maintain 285°F (140°C) for ~60 seconds. Always verify internal dwell with a thermal donut probe.
Issue: How do I avoid dot gain and screen clogging when printing black halftones or key lines?
Correction: For fine simulated process key lines or halftones, use a 230–305 tpi mesh count. If necessary, mix in 1–2% Curable Reducer by weight to lower ink viscosity and ensure clean mesh release without causing dot gain or bleeding on garments.
Issue: Why are colors printed on top of flashed black flaking off after cure?
Correction: Because black absorbs infrared heat much faster than other pigments, it is very easy to over-flash. Over-flashing fully cures the black ink surface, preventing secondary inks from cross-linking. Keep flash temperature between 220°F–240°F just until the film is gelled and tack-free to the touch.
