Global Supply Chain & Pricing Update

Global Supply Chain & Pricing Update

Last Updated: May 2026

At Star, we believe in transparency as the foundation of our customer relationships. Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and its subsequent disruption of global logistics, we have been forced to implement pricing adjustments as dictated by our manufacturers and suppliers.

As of May 1, 2026, these changes are officially in effect across our product catalog.

Why Prices Are Changing

The instability in the Middle East has created significant challenges for international trade. These factors have a direct impact on the cost of goods:

    • Increased Logistics Costs: Rerouting cargo ships and higher insurance premiums for transit through Middle East conflict zones.
    • Fuel & Energy Surcharges: Fluctuations in global energy markets due to skyrocketing, rising oil prices affecting manufacturing output.
    • Supply Chain Delays: Shortages in raw materials resulting from interrupted trade routes.

What is The Impact on Your Order?

The primary effects being felt by this situation are delays in shipments from manufacturers due to delays in the delivery of their raw materials for manufacturing. Here are the current delay times to anticipate:

    • Flint/Varn - 5 to 7 additional business days can be expected, as many products are made to order and delivery delays of raw materials are having a significant impact on manufacturing at their US facilities.
    • Other Manufacturers - Other key manufacturers have yet to experience impactful raw material delivery delays. As this situation changes, we will keep our customers informed.

Our Commitment: 0% Additional Margin

We understand that price increases are never welcome news. To support our customers, we have adopted a strict pass-through policy:

    • No Windfall Profits: The 10% to 30% increases are based solely on new mandatory surcharges applied by the manufacturers. We did not raise prices on our own.
    • Fairness First: We are not adding any additional margin to these increases.
    • Absorption: Prior to this date, Star absorbed numerous price fluctuations to protect our customers’ bottom lines for as long as was sustainable.
    • Business Ethics: We believe that taking advantage of a global crisis is unethical, and we will not follow down the path of greed that is the standard operating procedure of many large corporations.

Looking Ahead

As a small business, we are navigating these changes alongside you. The situation in the Middle East is devolving daily; there is no estimated timeframe in which hostilities will end, and we are monitoring the chaotic situation closely. We pledge to remain agile and will provide updates as soon as information becomes available regarding future pricing trends.
