Texsource 23" x 31" Pre-Stretched Aluminum Screen Printing Frames

The commercial standard for automatic carousels (M&R, ROQ, Anatol, Workhorse) and large-format manual presses. Extruded with a heavy 1.5" wall profile per side yielding a massive 20" x 28" printable interior, each frame is continuously TIG welded and machine sanded to guarantee a 100% leakproof seal. Tensioned symmetrically with premium monofilament polyester in White (60–200 tpi) for rapid exposure and high ink deposit, and Gold (200–305 tpi) to prevent light scatter during fine detail and halftone exposure.

Selector Guide: 23" x 31" White vs. Gold Mesh Press Dynamics

WHITE MESH (60 – 200 TPI) Fast Exposure • High Deposit

White threads maximize UV transmission for ultra-short burn times on high-output automatic lines. Best suited for high-density plastisol whites, athletic numbering, hoodies, and shimmer/metallic suspensions.

Available in 23"x31" Selector: 60, 86, 110, 125, 140, 160, 180, 200 White.
GOLD MESH (200 – 305 TPI) Anti-Scatter • Halftone Precision

Gold/yellow dyed threads absorb scattered UV light, completely stopping light undercut on delicate lines and fine halftone dots. Essential for automated CMYK process printing, simulated process, and soft-hand fashion prints.

Available in 23"x31" Selector: 200 Gold, 230 Gold, 280 Gold, 305 Gold.

Plastisol, Water-Based & Specialty Ink Mesh Guidelines

Mesh Count (TPI)Mesh ColorTarget Ink Chemistry & ApplicationDeposit & Pressroom Characteristics
60 – 86 Mesh White Shimmers & Heavy White Underbases Exceptional ink transfer for athletic jerseys, sweatshirts, and high-opacity blocking.
86 – 110 Mesh White Metallics & Thick Textile Plastisols Allows shimmer powders and viscous athletic formulations to shear cleanly through the mesh.
110 Mesh White Most Popular for Light Colors & White The commercial industry standard for printing direct white inks on dark cotton garments.
125 – 140 Mesh White General Spot Colors & Medium Underbases Balanced mesh opening between high opacity and finer graphic edge definition.
160 Mesh White Most Popular for Black & Fine Spot Colors Holds noticeably more detail than 110 mesh while controlling ink laydown for soft hand feel.
180 – 200 Mesh White / Gold High-Detail Typography & Light Inks Available in both White (fast cure) and Gold (anti-scatter) options.
200 – 230 Mesh Gold / Yellow Detailed Water-Based, Solvent & Thin Plastisol Ink may require curable reducer. Clean shearing for soft-hand fashion prints.
280 – 305 Mesh Gold / Yellow Super Fine Halftones, CMYK Process & Solvents Engineered for 45–65 LPI halftones. Yellow mesh completely prevents light bleed.

Automatic Press Rigidity & Construction Engineering

Texsource 23x31 pre-stretched aluminum screen printing frame with watertight TIG welded corners and white and gold mesh count options
Pressroom Tolerance Verified

Machine cut, squared, and tension-stabilized across the 23" x 31" footprint for rigid automatic press clamping.

1. Reinforced Square Corners & TIG Welds
Extruded aluminum framing with square corners, fully TIG welded and sanded to guarantee a 100% leakproof seal that eliminates internal water or chemical retention.
2. 1.5" Profile Wall Dimension (20" x 28" I.D.)
Engineered with a heavy-duty 1.5" wall per side, providing a 20" x 28" printable interior that supports full automatic stroke clears and squeegee margins.
3. Mechanically Sanded Glue Bonding Track
Bonding surfaces are sanded flat to optimize chemical mechanical adhesion with two-part polyurethane frame adhesive, preventing mesh delamination during pressure washing.
4. Low-Elongation Monofilament Polyester
Uniform thread diameters and precision plain weave maintain tension stability under squeegee shear, ensuring minimal image distortion and razor-sharp edge holding.

Shop-Floor Failure Diagnostics & Frame Correction

Direct mechanical solutions to common screen tension, exposure, and printing failures:

Pressroom DefectMechanical / Operational CauseHardware Correction
Registration Drift / Image Slur Screen tension has dropped below 15 N/cm, causing the squeegee to drag the mesh across the garment before snapping off. Use Texsource pre-stretched frames with 18–22 N/cm tension. Run a parallel 1/16" off-contact for instantaneous stencil release.
Halftone Dot Undercutting Using white mesh for fine lines (>200 tpi). White polyester fibers scatter UV light sideways, closing up shadow dots and burning out highlights. Select Gold Mesh (200–305 tpi) in the option selector. Gold threads absorb scattered UV light, preserving 45–65 LPI halftones.
Adhesive Delamination at Edges Prolonged exposure to harsh ink degradants and dip-tank chemistry penetrating the unprotected glue line. Apply solvent-resistant screen tape over the inside and outside frame edges, sealing the bonded seam from solvent contact.
Mesh Rupture / Corner Popping Squeegee blade is too wide for the printable area, pressing the mesh directly against the inner 1.5" aluminum wall. Ensure squeegee blades are sized at least 1.5" to 2" narrower than the 20" x 28" inside dimension to prevent corner stress tears.

DISCLAIMER, CARE & RECLAIM NOTICE: Texsource is a registered trademark of its respective owner. Star Graphic Supplies is an authorized distributor of Texsource screen printing frames, inks, and supplies. Washout pressure washers must not exceed 1,500–1,800 PSI at a minimum distance of 10–12 inches to prevent mesh rupture and edge delamination. Never submerge aluminum frames indefinitely in aggressive caustic dip tanks; neutralize and rinse thoroughly. Always store pre-stretched frames vertically in dry racks with adequate airflow to avoid warp and uneven tension loss.
