Texsource 20" x 28" Pre-Stretched Aluminum Screen Printing Frames

Engineered by Texsource with an extended 28" length profile, this frame accommodates elongated graphic layouts, oversized chest graphics, and tall vertical runs on manual presses and specialty carousels. Each frame features square corners, precision continuous TIG welds, and a machine-sanded bonding face for a 100% leakproof seal. Sized with a 1.5" profile wall per side providing a true 17" x 25" printable interior, it is pre-tensioned with stabilized monofilament polyester in White (110–160 tpi) for heavy ink transfers and Gold (200–305 tpi) to prevent light undercutting during high-resolution halftone runs.

Selector Guide: 20" x 28" White vs. Gold Mesh Options

WHITE MESH (110 – 160 TPI) Fast Exposure • High Deposit

White monofilament allows maximum UV light transmission for fast stencil exposure. Configured in core pressroom workhorse counts for standard cotton/blend textiles, dense underbases, and high-opacity spot printing over extended print lengths.

Available in 20"x28" Selector: 110 White, 156/160 White.
GOLD MESH (200 – 305 TPI) Anti-Scatter • Halftone Precision

Dyed gold threads eliminate lateral UV light reflection within the emulsion layer. This preserves fine detail, delicate typography, and high-density halftones across large poster or apparel designs without dot gain or bridge closing.

Available in 20"x28" Selector: 200 Gold, 230 Gold, 305 Gold.

Plastisol, Water-Based & Specialty Ink Mesh Guidelines

Mesh Count (TPI)Mesh ColorTarget Ink Chemistry & ApplicationDeposit & Pressroom Characteristics
110 Mesh White Most Popular for Light Colors & White High opacity on dark fabrics. Ideal for direct white plastisol passes and heavy underbases.
156 / 160 Mesh White Most Popular for Black & Detail Spot Colors Holds noticeably more detail than 110 mesh while controlling ink laydown for a softer hand feel.
200 – 230 Mesh Gold / Yellow Detailed Water-Based, Solvent & Thin Plastisol Ink may require curable reducer. Clean shearing for soft-hand fashion prints and fine line work.
305 Mesh Gold / Yellow Super Fine Halftones, CMYK Process & Solvents Engineered for 45–65 LPI halftones. Yellow mesh completely prevents light scatter and dot gain.

Precision Frame Engineering & Pressroom Construction

Texsource 20x28 pre-stretched aluminum screen printing frame with watertight TIG welded corners and white and gold mesh count options
Pressroom Tolerance Verified

Machine cut, squared, and tension-stabilized across the extended 28" length for repeatable multi-color press registration.

1. Square Corner Profiles & Continuous TIG Welds
Extruded aluminum framing with square corners, fully welded and machine sanded to guarantee a 100% watertight seal that prevents water or chemical accumulation inside frame tubes.
2. 1.5" Profile Wall Dimension (17" x 25" I.D.)
Engineered with a 1.5" wall per side, providing a large 17" x 25" printable interior that accommodates tall prints up to 14" x 22" while maintaining necessary squeegee clearance.
3. Mechanically Sanded Glue Bonding Track
Bonding surfaces are sanded flat to optimize chemical mechanical adhesion with two-part polyurethane frame adhesive, preventing mesh delamination during pressure washing.
4. Low-Elongation Monofilament Polyester
Uniform thread diameters and precision plain weave maintain tension stability under squeegee shear, ensuring minimal image distortion across long print strokes.

Shop-Floor Failure Diagnostics & Frame Correction

Direct mechanical solutions to common screen tension, exposure, and printing failures:

Pressroom DefectMechanical / Operational CauseHardware Correction
Registration Drift / Image Slur Screen tension has dropped below 15 N/cm, causing the squeegee to drag the mesh across the garment before snapping off. Use Texsource pre-stretched frames with 18–22 N/cm tension. Run a parallel 1/16" off-contact for instantaneous stencil release.
Halftone Dot Undercutting Using white mesh for fine lines (>200 tpi). White polyester fibers scatter UV light sideways, closing up shadow dots and burning out highlights. Select Gold Mesh (200–305 tpi) in the option selector. Gold threads absorb scattered UV light, preserving 45–65 LPI halftones.
Adhesive Delamination at Edges Prolonged exposure to harsh ink degradants and dip-tank chemistry penetrating the unprotected glue line. Apply solvent-resistant screen tape over the inside and outside frame edges, sealing the bonded seam from solvent contact.
Mesh Rupture / Corner Popping Squeegee blade is too wide for the printable area, pressing the mesh directly against the inner 1.5" aluminum wall. Ensure squeegee blades are sized at least 1.5" to 2" narrower than the 17" x 25" inside dimension to prevent corner stress tears.
